Every wine enthusiast will tell you that good taste is not something one is born. It’s a skill that is acquired during a long time and education. For those of you who have not so subtle fluid, a little education to be in order. There are basically four types of wine: red, white, red (or pink) and champagne, and contrary to popular belief, good wine is not in a box, that is, except a small box, gift wrapped.

For my purposes I will concentrate here on the red and white wines as they are by far the most frequent. The general rule on the red and white wines for years that in general, if you eat more like a plate of chicken or fish, you need a subtle wine that will not overwhelm the court to decide. Why red wine is traditionally associated with darker meat and white wine with light meat and vegetable dishes. This rule is not sacrosanct, and if you spend your hard-earned money, should you drink to be able to know what you damn well please contact your dinner. But hey, that’s just me. But I think this kind of rule applies when the wind started to white after Labor Day.

While known in France for many years as a wine country the United States and Australia are producing some really good wines, and Italy has recently always an excellent choice. Each process is to create a different taste and texture when you detailed information about your likes and dislikes, note where the wine was made, what specific kind of wine it was and ask what the estimated age of the wine.

Find what you want and work with it. Branch there and try similar wines in taste, body found, and texture, without the purchase of the same identical bottle of wine over and over again. If you are a wine you really like, buy a few bottles, so you have at hand. Gradually you build your collection in this way, and you’ll enjoy a nice collection of wines, you will end.
